The role The Grader Operator plays a key role within the Unsealed Roads team through:
- Carrying out general grader operations throughout the Council road network for all maintenance and construction activities.
- Safe and efficient operation of a range of plant associated with maintenance and construction activities, which may include, grader, grader & combination roller, tractor & combination roller, excavator, backhoe, skid steer and watercart operations.
- Accurately completing and submitting timesheets, checklists, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and other documentation, in either written or electronic form for both self and those on job site.
- Maintaining quality standards and obtaining good quality outcomes for the works being performed. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Skills and experience in general road maintenance or civil construction work using heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of the basic OH&S; principles and practices and environmental considerations on roadsides.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team to achieve outcomes.
- Ability to communicate well with clients, other employees, supervisors and the public.
- Ability to maintain both written and electronic records as required.
