We invite you to join us as we continue to explore and create better ways to educate, grounded in Christian values for the whole of life. **Description**: The Chaplain is a committed Christian who will work together with key leaders to; improve the staff development of a biblical worldview across the curriculum; provide Christian leadership to the College community in formal and informal settings; and enhance programs that focus on the development of the whole child across the College. This role is for a January 2026 start, 3 days per week, 40 weeks per year contract. This person is an active Christian who is able to understand how to integrate faith and education in relevant and authentic ways within a K-12 context and can gather, inspire, lead and engage others to connect with Christian Education. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**: Work in collaboration with the College Chaplaincy Team to execute duties to meet the needs of the College. Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering Chapel programs for Junior School, Middle School and Senior School. Facilitate Bible study groups during lunchtimes, helping students engage with Scripture, ask questions, and grow in their understanding of God’s Word. Assist in the coordination and leadership of the annual Lismore Service Trip. Actively contribute to the planning and running of other ministry events as directed by the Chaplaincy Team Leader. Offer follow-up and spiritual guidance to students who are exploring faith, seeking answers, or have recently chosen to follow Jesus. Provide intentional discipleship and mentoring to help Christian students grow in their faith, deepen their understanding of God’s Word, and live out their commitment to following Jesus. Identify and mentor students with leadership potential and help equip them to serve through Chapel, Bible study groups, or other ministry opportunities. Be a consistent and approachable presence on campus, creating opportunities for relational ministry through everyday interactions with students and staff. Participate in various school events and activities such as camps, excursions, the Spring Fair, and other community events. Communicate and liaise with parents, teachers and other staff if required. Involvement in extracurricular activities including lunchtime groups, camps, excursions, Spring Fair etc. And any other reasonable direction that is within the limits of your skills, competence, training and/or experience as given by the Principal or Supervisor. Report directly to the Principal on any matters relating to Child Protection. Respond in a timely and efficient manner to all incidents relating to students’ safety and well-being. Act, as necessary, to provide information to the leader to whom the position is responsible when relevant issues relating to risk management arise. ESSENTIAL QUALITIES AND SKILLS An active relationship with Christ expressed through church involvement. The ability to work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a team or autonomously when required. Previous experience in a school setting as a spiritual mentor to staff and students from 5
- 18 years of age. Demonstrated ability to mentor and support students, with an understanding of the key challenges they face A chaplaincy qualification or relevant vocational or tertiary qualification, or be working towards the same. Previous experience assisting in the coordination of Chapel services that enable students to grow in their relationship with Christ and with one another. Experience leading Bible study groups and equipping students to lead services and discipleship groups. Previous experience writing and presenting devotions for students and staff, and be an effective communicator. Have experience working with families of students who are at-risk, with the aim of supporting them emotionally and spiritually, knowing when to refer them to a qualified, external support person. Sound communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with leaders, staff, students and the broader community. **Skills and Experiences**: Ministry, Chaplaincy or Teaching Qualification is desirable but not required.
