Design Drafter (Queensland)

We are seeking skilled and experienced Design Drafters to prepare detailed and accurate drawings for electrical switchboards or switch rooms, ensuring compliance with client specifications, relevant standards, and company requirements. This role supports the Design Lead in executing projects and delivering high-quality switchboard designs within agreed timelines. Duties
- Prepare detailed CAD drawings (GA, wiring diagrams, schematics) and maintain accurate documentation, including BOMs.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (AS/NZS) and client requirements, incorporating safety practices.
- Update and revise drawings based on feedback from design and project teams.
- Collaborate with design, project, and production teams to ensure smooth integration into manufacturing.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings and maintain proper document control and traceability.
- Support continuous improvement by enhancing drafting processes, standards, and maintaining design templates/libraries. Skills & Experience
- Diploma in Engineering Drafting, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, and other relevant electrical standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, or equivalent software.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting electrical switchboards or similar products.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and GA drawings, familiarity with sheet metal design for switchboard enclosures. Competitive salary based on experience and competencies.
