Description
As a Lead Piping Design Coordinator/ Design Manager, you’ll play a critical role in delivering complex oil & gas, CSG, petrochemical and heavy industrial projects. You’ll lead piping design coordination across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality, secure and constructible design outcomes.
Working closely with project engineers, discipline leads and clients, you’ll help deliver integrated design solutions while coordinating work across both local teams and our Global Design Centres.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will lead and coordinate piping design activities across complex projects, ensuring alignment across engineering disciplines and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities Leading piping design coordination including 3D modelling, layout optimisation and constructability reviews Managing multidisciplinary design integration across structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and instrumentation Overseeing production and review of piping isometrics, general arrangements and fabrication deliverables Supporting smart, data-driven engineering delivery and digital design workflows
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to designers and modellers locally and globally Facilitating model reviews with project teams and clients Supporting planning, resourcing and delivery of piping design activities
What You’ll Bring Strong experience in piping design within oil & gas, CSG, petrochemical or heavy industry Expertise in Autodesk Plant 3D and Aveva for intelligent 3D model development Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs within integrated 3D environments Robust capability in P&ID; interpretation, piping layouts and isometric production Understanding of industry codes, Australian standards, ISO information standards and digital practices which includes development of digital pipe specifications Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience mentoring or guiding designers and modellers Ability to manage priorities and delivery across multiple projects
