Auto Electrician Charters Towers

Downtime Solutions Pty Ltd t/as DTS Service Centre, is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join the team in Charters Towers. This role involves working on a variety of vehicles and machinery, including light vehicles, trucks, and heavy earthmoving equipment. The position includes both workshop and field service duties, providing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services across sites in Charters Towers, Hughenden, and breakdown service locations as required.

Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and components Use diagnostic equipment to find and fix electrical issues Test and replace alternators, starters, and other electrical parts Repair and replace faulty ignition and wiring Adjust engine control systems Connect power-operated accessories to the power supply Troubleshoot electronic devices in recent and used vehicles, including trucks and earthmoving equipment Maintain, diagnose, and repair automotive air conditioning systems

Skills and Requirements: with relevant trade qualification with atleast 3 years of experience in a similar role Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Skilled in using meters, testing equipment, and advanced diagnostic tools Solid time management skills to meet deadlines and repair estimates Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid computer skills for documentation and reporting Completion of an auto electrical apprenticeship and a vocational qualification Additional skills training, particularly with computerised diagnostic equipment
