The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design team in Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth on a permanent full‑time basis. Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of concept and detailed mechanical and piping designs that support project objectives and operational needs.
- Prepare engineering deliverables including calculations, datasheets, specifications, technical reports, bid evaluations and cost estimates.
- Support compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Australian and international standards, and internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, designers, contractors and operations teams to deliver practical and integrated engineering solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, technical assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives to support safe and reliable project outcomes. Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in mechanical and piping engineering within oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, or similar industrial environments.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, piping systems and pipeline engineering practices.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian and international standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Exposure to brownfield projects and/or construction and commissioning activities is highly regarded.
- Experience using engineering tools such as AutoPIPE or Caesar II is beneficial but not essential.
