Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Jobs at Arup As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in understanding ground conditions, leading investigations, and delivering robust, design-driven geotechnical solutions. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to translate site data into practical, high-quality engineering outcomes. Responsibilities
- Undertake geotechnical design and analysis including desktop studies, investigation scopes, interpretation, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reporting.
- Plan, manage, and deliver geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing programmes, including health and safety planning and on-site implementation.
- Analyse field and laboratory data to develop explicit ground models and project-specific geotechnical solutions.
- Manage allocated work packages across projects and proposals, ensuring delivery aligns with team and business objectives.
- Maintain solid working relationships with clients, project engineers, sub-consultants, and contractors while ensuring compliance with Arup's Quality Management System. Qualifications
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, with Chartered status (or working towards Chartership) with Engineers Australia or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years' experience in geotechnical design and construction, including medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience planning, supervising, and interpreting geotechnical investigations, including slope stability and remediation design.
- Proficiency in industry-standard geotechnical software such as gINT, OpenGround, Slope/W, PLAXIS, and Leapfrog.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality outcomes to tight deadlines. Benefits
