Project Engineer – Mechanical We wish to complement our existing team with experienced Project Engineer – Mechanical for our Water Projects within the Fulton Hogan Utilities business. - Provide constructability design input and participate in SiD reviews and workshops, including CHAIR, HAZOP, CHAZOP, and other design review workshops as required.
- Perform key technical design verification reviews and engineering calculations.
- Provide technical input into procurement, support execution and manage the procurement process including tender evaluation and estimating.
- Manage subcontractors delivering project work and coordinate functions such as technical support during construction, quality, contracts, claims, variations, and audits.
- Proactively manage project HSEQ requirements, conduct daily inspections and audits, and review/approve safety documentation, WRAs, SWMS, etc.
- Manage subcontractor progress claims, review and approve variations, execute work to minimise cost, and oversee project practical completion documentation and hand-over deliverables.
- Manage quality lots, ITPs, and ITCs during construction and commissioning stages. Qualifications
- A degree-level qualification in Engineering (Structural/Mechanical/Piping or closely related).
- Sound experience in a project engineering role, with design knowledge that influences outcomes and ensures compliance with client specifications and Australian standards.
- Experience on construction projects in water infrastructure, including Water Treatment Plants and Waste Water Infrastructure.
- Experience with subcontractor management, project financials, procurement, and HSE planning.
- Affinity for continuous improvement and innovation, applying learnings to real-world project delivery.
