Job Overview
You will become a key member of the North Brisbane District, providing high level administrative support to the District Officer and the work unit including monitoring email accounts, preparation and distribution of correspondence.
You will also supervise, train, mentor and develop the AO3 Administration Officers to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the District Office.
The position is within the Queensland Police Service, located in the North Brisbane District Office in Brisbane City, and requires effective management of all administrative functions of the District Office.
You will work closely with the District Officer (Chief Superintendent), the Senior Sergeant
- Support Officer, Assistant District Officers, and other supporting staff such as the Workforce Coordinator and District Business Coordinator.
Key drivers: support and empower the district’s workforce and operationalise successful initiatives to keep the community protected and secure.
Primary Responsibilities Supervise, train, mentor and develop staff members, including participation in recruitment and selection. Research and review people-management issues and provide potential solutions and advice, including managing performance reviews. Maintain leave management systems, identify absenteeism trends, audit QPS personnel leave and staff rosters. Provide direct high-level support and advice to District Officers to identify, develop and implement improvements to systems, processes and procedures. Provide high-level District administrative support including monitoring email accounts, preparation and distribution of correspondence, records and asset disposal, and equipment stock-takes and audits. Liaise with external and internal clients and stakeholders, including managing internal Right to Information (RTI), Ministerial correspondence and external requests for information. Manage and coordinate financial reporting systems and budgetary returns, monitor expenditure including special services, accounts and asset management. Provide facilities management and coordinate maintenance, improvements and renovations, negotiate with external contractors, manage and review ad-hoc maintenance and cleaning.
