Sun Sushi — Sunshine Coast Sun Sushi is a well‐established Japanese restaurant dedicated to fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine. We're expanding and seeking a full‐time Chef to lead our kitchen and elevate our menu. The Role We are hiring an experienced Chef specializing in Japanese food. This role requires expert knife skills, experience handling raw seafood, strong hygiene and food‐safety practice, and the ability to innovate while maintaining traditional techniques. What We Offer Full‐time, permanent position Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year + Super Supportive, energetic team environment Opportunity to showcase culinary leadership and menu innovation Key Responsibilities Lead preparation and cooking of a wide range of Japanese dishes (sushi, sashimi, tempura, donburi, ramen, etc.) Execute precise knife work and handle raw seafood safely and expertly Ensure outstanding presentation, consistency, and food quality Maintain strict hygiene, food safety and HACCP‐compliant practices Co‐manage kitchen operations, workflow and plating during service Oversee inventory, stock control, supplier ordering and cost management Drive menu development and innovation Requirements Proven experience as a Chef of Japanese cuisine Excellent knife skills and experience working with raw seafood (sushi/sashimi) Strong knowledge of Japanese ingredients, techniques and presentation Certificate in Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management Excellent hygiene and food‐safety record and practices Ability to work under pressure, lead a team, and innovate menu offerings Positive, qualified attitude and solid communication skills Work Location: In person. #J-*****-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3rduqv
