Barista / Day Manager – Broadbeach (Gold Coast) (Queensland)

We are Quest Coffee Roasters, a long established espresso bar and organic coffee roastery with a loyal community following in Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast. We sell coffee beans and products in store, online, and wholesale. We are known for our top quality coffee, epic toasties, delicious in‑house baked cakes and treats, and friendly café service. - Oversee training, rostering, and hiring to maintain a motivated cafe team
- Ensure top‑tier food, drink, and cleanliness standards in all operations
- Run shifts efficiently, and implement new processes to optimise workflow
- Oversee inventory, vendor relationships, and supply orders
- Develop and maintain a profitable and appealing menu
- Continuously uplift the customer experience with a welcoming atmosphere and high service standards
- Participate in barista and food handling duties as needed
- Set the standard for the team and ensure high‑quality work
- Serve as primary point of contact, addressing issues and providing updates to the operations manager Note: if there are certain responsibilities you’ve not had experience with before, that’s okay! - 2 or more years of recent experience as a day or cafe manager
- 4 or more years experience as a barista at a rapid‑paced cafe
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of health and safety Nice to Have
- Certification in Hospitality or related industry
- Baking or food handling experience
- IT / programming experience
- Marketing / photography / or writing experience Personal Requirements
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate long‑term visa to work in Australia. Note: This role is not suitable for Working Holiday VISA holders
- Availability to work at least 1 weekend day every 2nd week
- Availability to work shifts from 4:45am to 3:00pm weekdays, and between hours 4:45am to 5pm on weekends
