PROJECT ENGINEER – MECHANICAL OR CHEMICAL/PROCESS – BRISBANE We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a minimum 7-10 years’ relevant design consultancy experience in Mechanical or Chemical / Process engineering to join our team at our head office in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. - Client interface and autonomously delivering multi‑discipline engineering and design projects on time and within budget
- Project controls and reporting including budget tracking, variation management and scheduling
- Preparation and review of project specific scope of works, technical and procurement documentation
- Project cost estimating and risk assessments
- Preparation and review of User Specifications, PFD’s, P&ID;’s
- Preparation, review and/or approval (as applicable) of engineering requirements such as hydraulic modelling, surge analysis, stress analysis, equipment sizing and datasheets
- Co‑ordination and delivery of 3D design modelling and multi‑discipline drawing packages including review and approval where applicable
- Facilitating design reviews and attendance at HAZOP’s
- Liaison and negotiation with suppliers and sub‑consultants
- Liaison with other discipline engineers to ensure that our designs are fully integrated and compliant with client and project specific requirements The successful applicant will have:
- A bachelor’s degree qualification in mechanical or chemical/process engineering (degree to be recognised by Engineers Australia)
- Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Australia and RPEQ accredited
- A minimum of 7 – 10 years’ engineering design and consultancy experience within relevant industries such as Bitumen, Bulk Fuel Storage, Pipelines and/or Aviation
- Experience in applicable technical calculations, design and equipment selection
- Experience in the application of recognised Australian industry standards and statutory regulations
- Experience in the review and approval of engineer and design documentation and drawings
- A systematic and analytical approach and a high regard for accuracy
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills (oral and written)
- Be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project. Salary & Conditions Your salary will be negotiated depending on your experience.
