Signalling Designer (Queensland)

Overview Signalling Designer based in Brisbane, QLD. The role is central to delivering high-quality engineering and design services across projects, providing technical input and guidance, and mentoring subordinate staff. Responsibilities
- Design signalling engineering systems for asset renewal and customer programmes.
- Ensure engineering designs meet business requirements and align with industry best practice.
- Plan and organise the technical aspects of engineering projects under guidance, including design activities, user requirements, material and component specifications, and safety in design for new and modified works.
- Identify opportunities for improved processes and standards, and contribute to the development and implementation of new standards, specifications and work practices. Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification or advanced diploma in engineering, or an equivalent approved qualification.
- Strong capability in developing technical, design, construction and maintenance engineering solutions, including the use of new technologies and techniques.
- Proven ability to operate and design with CAD software such as Microstation or AutoCAD.
- Experience in railway signalling design.
- Confident communicator able to work effectively with internal teams, external providers, suppliers, regulators, users and trade staff.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver professional engineering work with minimal supervision, using sound judgement, initiative and accountability for outcomes.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written, consultation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of engineering systems, with a track record of solving problems and improving performance. Advantages
