**The Role**
We believe in the power of connection, and our Remote Services team is at the heart of making that happen across Australia’s most remote communities. We’re on the lookout for a passionate and experienced leader to take on the role of **Manager, Remote Services**- a role that blends strategy, leadership, and hands-on impact.
In this exciting position, you’ll lead and mentor a team of Remote Coordinators, ensuring services are safe, effective, and truly responsive to the needs of the communities we work alongside. You’ll play a pivotal role in building trusted partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, while also driving service growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. We are looking for a person who is connected to Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities and has a strong understanding of the historical, geographic, health, social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This isn’t your everyday management role

In a nutshell this role will:
- Lead and support a team of Remote Coordinators to deliver safe, effective services aligned to Orange Sky’s mission.
- Drive strategies to expand reach, strengthen partnerships, and improve service efficiency in remote communities.
- Identify growth opportunities, support new service launches, and oversee logistics and maintenance.
- Champion a data-driven approach to monitor performance, impact, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee risk assessments, incident management, and safety practices to ensure strong safety culture across all services.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with First Nations communities, partners, government, and funders.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to team members, fostering engagement and growth.Manage operations to achieve both strategic and day-to-day objectives while contributing to organisational reporting and improvement.

Additionally, the ideal applicant has:
- At least 2 years’ leadership experience leading teams in program development, operational support, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of principles of public health (highly desired).
- Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values, and ways of doing business.
- Demonstrated understanding of the health, social, and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- A track record of enhancing processes through a proactive and growth-orientated mindset.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce.
- Robust written communication skills and proven problem-solving ability.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage complex and competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel and work flexibly as required.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.A proactive attitude, resilience, and a genuine passion for our cause.
