Description
We are seeking a skilled Chef to support our kitchen operations and menu development. This role involves planning and preparing high-quality dishes, coordinating food production, and ensuring efficient use of ingredients, staff, and kitchen equipment. In this role, you will also be responsible for developing and reviewing kitchen procedures, workflow statements, and organisational charts to clarify roles and responsibilities, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery. · Salary package is subject to working experience. Task & Responsibilities:
· Assists in planning menus and determining appropriate food quantities, portions, and costings to support efficient and cost-effective kitchen operations.
· Prepares and cooks a wide range of dishes in accordance with established recipes, while applying personal expertise, creativity, and professional judgment.
· Monitors and maintains food quality, taste, consistency, and presentation to ensure all dishes consistently meet required standards.
· Supervises, trains, and supports Cooks and Kitchenhands in food preparation, cooking techniques, correct use of kitchen equipment, and food safety procedures.
· Manages ordering and stock control of ingredients, kitchen equipment, and supplies to ensure adequate inventory levels for daily service requirements.
· Collaborates with management to develop current menu items, refine existing recipes, and contribute to ongoing menu innovation and improvement.
· Works closely with front-of-house staff to ensure effective communication and the timely delivery of food service.
· Ensures strict compliance with all workplace health, hygiene, and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment. Qualification & Experience:
· At least AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma, Certificate IV in commercial cookery, kitchen management or hospitality management.
