Description
All teachers are role models for students, exemplifying Catholic teachings and values in their lives and in their actions. The Teacher will encourage supportive, inclusive learning environments and model the Gospel values through everyday interactions with parents, caregivers, children, and colleagues in our school setting. The Teacher is accountable to the Principal and Leadership Team to deliver teaching and learning programs in accordance with school expectations and system requirements.

The Teacher will participate in continuing education and professional development activities such as training sessions, workshops, coaching and informational meetings to meet the required qualifications and competencies (including CEWA accreditation requirements). Teachers will strive for ongoing qualified excellence by participating in reflective practice and engaging in Goal Setting meetings with the Leadership Team. They will keep up to date with the latest educational trends and research and will participate in formal and informal professional development with the aim of ongoing improvement. The Teacher is responsible for the maintenance of their own professional needs such as, TRBWA, Accreditation, AITSL Standards and WWC clearances.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Teacher is responsible for planning, teaching, and assessment of their relevant learning areas. The majority of teaching requires the teacher to be active and on their feet for a large majority of the day.

Duties and responsibilities of the Teacher include but are not limited to: 1. Personalised Education

1.1. Teaching and Learning

1.2. The individual needs of students
- Provide a high level of pastoral care and nurture the wellbeing of all students. Enact your duty of care for students, including playground duty. Communicate regularly with other staff, including specialist teachers, education assistants and the school leadership team, and external stakeholders such as therapists, regarding student needs. Develop knowledge and understanding of individual students to enhance their learning and connectedness to the school.
- Collect, analyse, and utilise student data to enhance build on prior knowledge and enhance learning, through differentiating assessment and implementation. Understand the processes to identify specific learning needs for individual students and work within set guidelines to facilitate a differentiated approach that enables personalised education, through Individual Learning Plans.
- Develop and implement Individual Behaviour Plans, specifically collecting data measuring progress and reviewing plans.

1.3. Classroom Practice
- Promote and integrate Catholic Values through their teaching.
- Create and maintain a safe, vibrant, and engaging learning environment inclusive of a range of diversity. Teach in a manner that is effective for engaged student learning.
- Support the wellbeing approach of the school through classroom practice.
- Set and maintain clear behavioural and learning expectations for students in line with policies and procedures, differentiating for complex presentations.

1.4. Assessment and Reporting
- Complete all requirements in relation to the marking of student work and assessment tasks and provide feedback in an effective, professional, and timely manner.
- Complete all academic reporting requirements in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.
- Undertake all assessments as listed in the school’s assessment schedule and engage in data-driven conversations for continued improvement.
- Differentiating these to show progress of all learners.

1.5. Provide support to students in the management of daily routine

1.6. Effective administration related to students and learning
- Ensure that attendance marking procedures for attendance are fulfilled according to school expectations. Support the administrative needs of the school Leadership Team as required when preparing for programs and events outside the normal routine. Maintain accurate records of communication through SEQTA in relation to student issues and ensure the security and confidentiality of information. Complete the necessary tasks such as planning, marking, lesson preparation, data analysis, administrative duties, and meetings during DOTT (Duties Other Than Teaching) time.

- Uphold the values and expectations as described in the school’s Code of Conduct. Actively promote student engagement. Demonstrate a growth mindset that shows a commitment to professional growth aligned to the AITSL Professional Standards. Enhance skills and knowledge through participation in professional learning programs that support and advance best practice. Support colleagues in their ongoing professional learning journey by sharing resources and expertise and providing/receiving constructive feedback.
