Description
This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026. Grandis Primary School is a professional learning community committed to ensuring every student develops the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to thrive as confident, capable learners and active members of the community. The school is situated on Grandis Boulevard in Banksia Grove and was built in two stages. The school includes five teaching blocks, administration area, playgrounds, undercover area, library, dental therapy centre as well as multi-purpose courts and an oval which are shared with the City of Wanneroo. The Role The Gardener – Handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a conducive external learning environment for students and staff. This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies. The Gardener – Handyperson is also tasked with keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices. The role contributes to the development of secure work procedures and conducts risk assessments as needed. Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation and the management of hazardous substances are integral aspects of the role, including the maintenance of records in accordance with safety guidelines.
