Company Hexagon Autonomous Solution comprises three divisions: Agriculture, Autonomy & Positioning, and Mining – providing a breadth of perception, positioning, vehicle autonomy and site orchestration technologies to enable autonomous solutions for agriculture, mining, automotive and marine sectors. Project Hexagon has partnered with a mining client to develop an autonomous haulage solution that will deploy and operate a world‑first fleet of 120 fully autonomous road trains to carry ore 150 km to the port. The solution includes drive‑by‑wire technology and an autonomous management system, offering a truck‑agnostic, full‑site solution designed to streamline vehicle movement in road‑train haulage. Responsibilities
- Support and continuously improve quality systems within operational and production environments, ensuring alignment between field and product development.
- Act as the sole in‑country representative of the global engineering team, linking local field teams with global product development.
- Work independently across diverse stakeholder groups, demonstrating ownership, initiative, and alignment with engineering milestones.
- Interface between field teams and product development to identify priorities and solutions.
- Provide front‑line product and application support to address quality issues for internal and external customers.
- Liaise with other departments on technical matters.
- Formulate and implement procedures and plans to resolve problems.
- Perform software testing, verification, bug reporting, and field trial coordination.
- Review technical documentation and manuals.
- Generate application notes for FAQs and the knowledge base. The position is based at the project site in Wangara on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with potential extension. Qualifications Technical
- Degree in Geomatics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Prior experience in autonomous technology from concept through to testing, validation and commissioning.
- Experience supporting quality and testing environments.
- Understanding of autonomous technology in automotive or mining environments.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical applications in heavy industrial or mining settings.
- Proven problem‑solving / troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
- English fluency with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to work across global time zones, including U.S. East and West. General
- High attention to detail and highly organised.
- Strong multitasker with ability to prioritise.
- Comfortable working independently and asking for help when needed.
- Works well in collaborative setting.
- Valid Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.
