We’re looking for a Senior Design Project Manager (SDPM) to lead major electrical and lighting design projects from concept through to completion — while mentoring Project Managers, controlling outcomes, and setting the standard for delivery excellence. This role suits someone who thrives on complexity, accountability, and leadership, not micromanagement.

About the Role

As Senior Design Project Manager, you will:

- Lead and deliver large, complex design projects from inception to completion
- Oversee programs, timelines, budgets and resourcing at a senior level
- Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, supporting day-to-day delivery
- Drive high-level project planning, forecasting and risk management
- Coordinate across design, technical and delivery teams
- Manage senior stakeholders with confidence and clarity Ensure all deliverables meet quality, safety and commercial expectations

- Exceptional stakeholder and communication skills
- Proven leadership and team coordination capability
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Ability to manage competing priorities without losing control Required Experience & Qualifications

- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar project leadership role
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting Energex works plans and related documentation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting lighting and electrical Australian standards.
- Understanding of Energex and how they operate – advantageous
- Formal qualifications in Project Management or Business Management – advantageous
