**A little about the role**

As an Options & Placements Advisor, you will coordinate timely, safe and child-centered foster care placements for children and young people (CYP) entering Out of Home Care in Victoria, working closely with carers, internal teams and the Department.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating carer placements using creative and responsive approaches that meet the individual needs of children and young people.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with foster carers, including supporting and upskilling carers to build capacity and sustain placements.
- Managing emergency and planned placements, including after-hours updates, carer availability and clear handovers with case management teams.
- Liaising with the Cultural Practice Lead on new placements to ensure culturally secure and responsive placement planning.
- Maintaining accurate placement records and coordinating placement-related processes, including carer allowance payments and documentation.

The base salary for this position is $100,776.00
- $105,340.56 /annum (based on 1.0FTE) + vehicle & fuel card + mobile + super + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.

This is a full-time, temporary position from 30 April 2026 until 12 April 2027 to cover a period of parental leave.

**About you**

You are organised, proactive and relationship-focused, with a strong understanding of foster care or out-of-home care systems and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced placement environment.

We are looking for someone who has:

- Experience working with and/or on behalf of children and families, ideally in foster care, out-of-home care or a related human services setting, with an understanding of placement and intake processes.
- A recognised qualification in Social Work, Community Services or a related field.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to build trust and understanding with people from diverse backgrounds and with varying experience.
- The ability to critically assess placement requests, problem-solve creatively and respond effectively to urgent and competing priorities.
- Sound administrative skills, including accurate record-keeping, compliance and confidence managing placement-related financial processes.
- A commitment to child safety, cultural safety, inclusion and ethical practice.
