About the role We are looking for a motivated Purchasing Specialist to join our team here at MCC Melbourne. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting end-to end varied procurement processes and contracting activities for our Melbourne plant. **In this exciting and varied role, you will**:
- Manage supplier relationships and material supply programs.
- Support ANZ Regional Procurement with data management, analysis, supplier tenders, and cost reduction activities.
- Oversee supply forecasting, quality processes, and negotiate supplier contracts.
- Maintain data on raw material costs, exchange rates, and local contracts (e.g., cleaning, pest control, freight).
- Contribute to project pipeline savings.
- Provide R&D; with information on new products and opportunities.
- Authorize invoices and ensure correct pricing.
- Support continual improvement in operations.
- Ensure safe work practices and address safety concerns in the supply chain.
- Perform other duties as required
About you
- Prior experience in Procurement, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- High level of planning, sourcing, negotiation, tendering and contract management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate experience in undertaking multiple procurement activities from start to finish.
- High level of maturity and credibility to influence others and build/maintain strong internal and external relationships.
- Actively promote and advocate diversity and inclusion and our gender equality ambitions.
