**Our Journey**

Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. The General Services team at Monash Medical Centre, is seeking qualified Patient Services Assistants who strives consistently to deliver high quality and efficient cleaning services.

**Patient Services Assistants position available**: **Position 1. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)**

**Week 1** Sunday
- Wednesday 15.30
- 23.00

**Week 2** Sunday
- Tuesday 15.30
- 23.00

**Position 2. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)**

**Week 1** Thursday
- Saturday 15.30

**Week 2** Wednesday

- **Potential to pick up additional PM shifts_

**Position 3. Day Treatment Centre**

Monday
- Friday 11:30
- 18:00

**Position 4. Ward 34**

Monday

- (52 hours per fortnight)_

**Position 5. PM Floater**

Monday
- Friday 18.30
- 23.30
- (50 hours per fortnight)_

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Patient discharge assistance
- Daily and discharge cleaning
- Patient transport and at times assisting with Bariatric patients
- Patient transfers between wards and other clinical areas
- Patient transfers with use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Dropping off and collection to various services such as pathology, blood bank etc.
- Patient meal services
- Patient lifting and turning under the direction of nursing staff (ICU)

**About You**:

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Holds a strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Experienced with patient turning would be highly regarded

**What you Need**:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Level 1 (Essential)
- Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment _(desirable)_
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
