Supermarket Store Manager (Point Lookout)

Bob's Shop Foodworks Point Lookout has been an institution on North Stradbroke Island for over 40 years and is now seeking an experienced Store Manager to take over the daily operations, long-term planning, future development and growth of the business as the owners permanently step away. North Stradbroke Island is situated a short ferry ride from Redland Bay (Greater Brisbane area) however, relocation to the Island is essential to be a successful applicant where financial relocation assistance will be considered for the right applicant. This position will suit someone who:
· Is looking for autonomy (no boss or owner looking over your shoulder)

Key Functions of Position: Basic Business 1. Create, implement and maintain a perpetual 3 year business forecast and strategy 2. Set and achieve annual financial budgets and objectives Basic Day to Day Operations 1. Community engagement and PR 2. Financial Management 3. Ordering 4. Team management and development 5. Rostering 6. Product ranging and relays 7. Implementation of business initiatives and change 8. OH&S; and Food Safety 9. Waste management 10. - You must have a calm, tempered and calculating personality, “slow and steady wins the race”. The business is already successful with a set permanent team, we are simply looking for someone to take over the daily responsibility of the business and continue to improve and build the business year on year through calculated, well thought out plans and leadership.
- You must have a genuine care for your team and strong leadership skills
- Employment on the island is very limited so employee retention is paramount. Outstanding team moral and strong verbal communication for teaching and developing your team’s skills and positive attitude will be the most key attribute for ongoing success.
- You must have the ability to innovate and think independently
- There is an incredible scope for improvement within the business both in sales growth as well as process improvement. Having the ability to innovate and think independently will be critical to the ongoing growth and management of the business.
- You must have strong interest in product ranging and relays
- Ongoing product range and relay review will be a weekly task for a successful store manager.
- You must have an open car license and be willing to obtain and forklift and truck licence.
