The perfect role for a true all-rounder who is tired of the corporate world and actually wanting to make a difference in people's lives who are truly in need. Our client is a respected not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness, working closely with a national network of service providers, donors and community partners. In this varied and hands-on role, you will be part of a small, committed team where no two days look the same. One moment you may be coordinating donations, the next you may be assisting a community partner, preparing shipments, supporting fundraising activity or ensuring the office runs smoothly. For someone who enjoys being busy, contributing to a meaningful cause and working in a role where their support truly matters, this is a very rewarding opportunity. Because this organisation relies heavily on community support and donations, the successful candidate will also be comfortable speaking with donors, supporters and corporate contacts about the work being done and the impact it has. The role is based full time in the organisation’s Cleveland office, supporting daily operations and ensuring their important work continues to run efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Managing incoming phone calls, emails and general enquiries
- Speaking with donors, corporate supporters and community groups to explain the organisation’s work and occasionally seek support or donations
- Coordinating shipments of donated items nationally and internationally
- Processing orders and supporting logistics coordination
- Assisting with donation administration and basic bookkeeping tasks
- Assisting with fundraising activity and helping promote the organisation’s mission where opportunities arise
- Maintaining databases and CRM systems
- Assisting with in-person queries from homeless people
- Providing general office administration support across the team
- Assist with social media posts/respond to queries
- Run errands such as visiting the post office or shops
- Prepare lunches, coffees etc for the team and keep office neat and tidy

- A confident communicator who is comfortable speaking with a wide range of people, from members of the public through to corporate supporters

- Comfortable picking up the phone and building relationships when opportunities arise
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence speaking with a wide range of people including community members, donors and corporate stakeholders
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently
- A calm, professional approach when dealing with sensitive situations
- Exposure to basic bookkeeping or accounts administration will be viewed favourably.
