The Opportunity Cleveland Heights Retirement Living is an elevated bayside community designed for comfortable, connected living. Surrounded by coastal beauty and close to shopping, healthcare and transport, it offers ease and peace of mind. As a Maintenance Gardener, you will play an important role within the community, ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe, well-maintained and visually appealing. You’ll take care of day‑to‑day gardening and community maintenance tasks while engaging positively with residents. This role is ideal for someone with solid preventative maintenance experience who is friendly, proactive, and enjoys a varied, hands‑on role. This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm Your Impact
- Completing general repairs and handyperson tasks such as painting, picture hanging and light replacements
- Performing small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers
- Supporting the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community
- Managing community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organised and fit for purpose
- Maintain gardens, grounds and outdoor areas to a high standard, including mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching and green waste management
- Recording maintenance activities, notes and job updates
- Being a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team Whatyou'llbring
- Experience in a general maintenance or trade‑based role, including hands‑on handyperson tasks
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
- An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly way
- A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work
- A valid driver’s licence (essential)
- Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required) What we offer
