About the Role We are seeking passionate, reliable, and motivated Support Workers to join our growing team in a brand-new Supported Independent Living (SIL) house. You’ll play a vital role in supporting participants to live safely, independently, and meaningfully within their community. This role will begin as 1:2 support and will transition to 1:3 support. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including hygiene, grooming, meals, and mobility assistance.
- Support participants with daily living skills, community access, and social engagement.
- Assist participants to develop independence, confidence, and life skills.
- Promote and encourage active, healthy lifestyles.
- Deliver support during sleepovers and overnight shifts.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members.
- Apply strong de-escalation techniques to manage behavioural or emotional challenges calmly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation in line with NDIS compliance.
- Follow all organisational policies, procedures, and participant care plans.
- Contribute to a supportive, solutions-focused team environment. What We’re Looking For
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services (or minimum 2 years’ relevant experience).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
- SIL experience highly regarded.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Competence with technology for rosters, progress notes, and reporting.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting others.
