- To ensure the quality of and safety of construction works.
- To ensure that construction works comply with the documentation and industry best practice and are completed in the most economical and efficient manner.
- Ensure that tenders and quotes for Capital Works Projects are following legislative, statutory and Council policy.
- To contribute to the success of Council through active teamwork and effective performance of the responsibilities of the duties of the position.
- Obtain quotes and arrange tenders for works.
- Undertake construction supervision of developers relating to Onsite Stormwater Detention (OSD) and outfall drains relating to multi-unit developments and subdivisions.
- Review Onsite Stormwater Detention (OSD) designs and provide advice to developers.
- Assess and advise on matters relating to Legal Point of Discharge Skills and experience require to perform the role
- Tertiary (Degree) qualification in Civil Engineering enabling eligibility for Membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
- Recent Civil Engineering Graduate with experience in a civil construction environment, particularly in setting out and construction supervision of urban road construction.
- Recent Civil Engineering Graduate with experience in the supervision of contractors and the construction of civil infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret specifications and standard drawings.
- Understanding Onsite Stormwater Detention (OSD) assessments and site inspections relating to multi-unit developments.
- Knowledge of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principals.
- Ability to work within established procedures and systems as part of a multi-skilled team with well-developed organisational skills and an ability to plan and prioritise multiple projects whilst consistently meeting agreed deadlines.
- Very well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on the capacity to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships and partnerships, both internally and externally.
- Commitment to quality assurance practices, workplace health and safety, and environmental standards, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of design and construction of municipal drainage and road infrastructure (highly regarded).
