Division: Operations Department: Near‑Time Operations Reference number: 13079 Engagement type: Fixed Term Contract About The Role The Near‑Time Operations department includes the functions of Operational Forecasting, Operations Planning, Congestion & Grid Engineering and Market Operations & Analytics. It is responsible for providing real‑time support functions for the secure and reliable management of the National Electricity Market (NEM). A person in this role will work alongside technical subject‑matter experts (SMEs) to develop and maintain high‑quality power system operating procedures and technical reports that support AEMO’s Operations division. These outputs are used to ensure the security and reliability of the National Electricity Market and AEMO’s electricity control rooms. What You Will Be Doing
- Update and maintain power system operating procedures and technical reports that support AEMO’s electricity control rooms, working alongside technical SMEs.
- Manage the update, review, approval and publish workflow process of power system operating procedures and technical reports, coordinating across multiple technical teams as required.
- Provide support for the PAWS system, including managing access, associated updates and workflow processes.
- Develop and maintain an audit function for power system operating procedures and technical reports.
- Lead, develop and maintain a set of best‑practice technical documentation principles. What You Will Bring To The Role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (preferably in Electrical Engineering with a power system focus) or equivalent relevant discipline.
- Experience working in the energy industry in information development, technical writing or a similar role; experience in utilities or a similar regulatory environment will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret, summarise and develop new information and knowledge artefacts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of plain‑English principles, style guides and the separation of content and style.
- Proficient use of the Microsoft Office product suite. Benefits
