Role Description

This is a full time in office role for a Livestock Veterinarian & Advisor, located in Warrnambool, VIC. The role involves providing veterinary care to livestock, diagnosing and treating animal health issues, and developing herd health management plans. Additional responsibilities include advising farmers on best practices for livestock management, disease prevention, business performance and nutrition. The position also requires maintaining accurate records, conducting on-farm assessments, and staying updated on the latest industry developments.

Qualifications

Expertise in veterinary medicine, with a focus on livestock health, diagnosis, and treatment

Experience in disease prevention, herd health planning, and livestock nutrition management

Strong communication and advisory skills to effectively interact with farmers and stakeholders

Organizational and record-keeping abilities to manage documentation and maintain compliance

Commitment to ongoing career development and staying current with industry trends

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Veterinary Science and registration with the relevant veterinary board

Familiarity with local agricultural practices and livestock needs in Victoria is an advantage
