Job Description About the Role As a Production Chef , you will play a key role within our high-volume kitchen production environment, helping deliver nutritious meals to Australians experiencing food insecurity. This is not your traditional restaurant role. You’ll work predictable weekday hours with no split shifts, rotating rosters or late-night hospitality demands. Working alongside kitchen teams and volunteers, you'll ensure high-quality meal production while maintaining food safety, operational efficiency and team collaboration. This is Full Time Permanent Position Roster Pattern: Monday to Friday 07:00 A.M
- 4:00 P.M Duties include:
- Supervise and motivate volunteers to achieve production goals and maintain food quality.
- Ensure compliance with OH&S; and food safety standards, including HACCP monitoring.
- Manage food stock to minimize waste and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Record production statistics and support team members with daily tasks.
- Lead in line with SecondBite | FareShare’s values, fostering trust and teamwork.
- Provide coaching and training to enhance team effectiveness. You will bring:
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent trade qualification)
• Previous experience working in a high-volume food production, manufacturing, catering or commercial kitchen workplace
• Ability to create a wide range of high-quality meals without relying heavily on recipes, adapting to rescued surplus food and changing ingredient availability
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
• Adaptability, initiative and a solutions-focused mindset
