Di Stasio Carlton is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook / Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Located in Carlton, Di Stasio Carlton is an established Italian dining venue known for its refined dining experience, traditional Italian cuisine, handcrafted pizzas, and high-quality seasonal ingredients. The restaurant operates as a full-service dining establishment with dine-in service, curated menus, and a robust focus on authentic Italian cooking techniques.

Position: Cook / Pizza Chef

Employment Type: Full time

Salary: AUD $75,000 – $80,000 per annum + superannuation

Key Duties and Responsibilities Preparing, seasoning, and cooking Italian dishes and pizzas in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards Preparing pizza dough, stretching bases, assembling toppings, and operating commercial pizza ovens Examining food ingredients and finished dishes to ensure quality and consistency Regulating temperatures of ovens and other cooking equipment during service Assisting with food preparation across different kitchen sections as required Portioning and plating food with sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock rotation Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety requirements Assisting in maintaining smooth kitchen operations during lunch and dinner service

Skills and Experience Required Relevant qualification at AQF Certificate III level or higher in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent), or at least 3 years of relevant experience Experience working in an Italian restaurant or pizza section preferred Ability to prepare and cook food in a professional commercial kitchen environment Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently in a team-based kitchen setting Strong attention to quality, consistency, and presentation
