Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of kitchen operations. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation, and creating a positive and efficient work environment for the kitchen staff. Key Responsibilities 1. Menu Development: Design and update the restaurant’s menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients, culinary trends, and guest preferences. Innovate and create unique, high-quality dishes. 2. Kitchen Management: Lead and manage the kitchen team, including sous chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants. Ensure proper training, development, and motivation of staff. 3. Food Quality & Consistency: Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation. Ensure consistency in every dish that leaves the kitchen. 4. Inventory & Ordering: Manage inventory, including food and supplies, ensuring that the kitchen is well‑stocked and organised. Place orders as necessary and manage food costs to maintain profitability. 5. Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, sanitation practices, and hygiene. Ensure the kitchen is a safe and clean environment for all staff. 6. Budget Management: Assist in managing the kitchen budget, controlling food costs, and reducing waste. Monitor financial goals and suggest improvements where necessary. 7. Collaboration: Work closely with the front‑of‑house staff to ensure smooth communication and an excellent dining experience for customers. Be responsive to guest feedback regarding food and service. 8. Event Planning & Special Orders: Plan and execute catering events, private dining, and special orders, ensuring exceptional culinary experiences for all customers. 9. Problem‑Solving: Handle any issues or challenges that arise in the kitchen, from customer complaints to supply chain issues, with a calm and solution‑oriented approach. Qualifications 1. Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role in a fast‑paced, high‑volume kitchen. 2. Robust knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen management. 3. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. 4. A creative and creative approach to menu planning and food presentation. 5. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 6. Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a high level of quality and efficiency. 7.
