This position supports the Senior Procurement, Contracts and Purchasing Advisor to provide a high standard of direction and specialist advice to City staff on a range of procurement, contractual and purchasing issues related to the acquisition of goods and services for the City. This position will ensure that the City's centrally led procurement model delivers an effective, efficient, and compliant procurement, contract and purchasing management process with a focus on systems, service delivery improvement and development.

This position will also be responsible for providing first line support, and advice across the City to ensure that procurement, purchasing and contract activities are undertaken in accordance with legislative requirements and relevant policies, practices, procedures and guidelines.

To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement and contracting, commerce or related field, and/ or relevant experience.
- A commitment to excellence in customer service, with consultancy and negotiation skills.
- High level of time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise complex workloads.
- Experience in procurement as it relates to competitive tendering, expressions of interest, quotations and contract management.
- Experience using TechnologyOne (1System) software is desirable.
- Previous experience in Local Government is desirable.
