Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of truck-mounted cranes for electricity utilities and private contractors. About The Opportunity
This is a full time role and the primary purpose of this position is to carry out fabrication and welding of crane components and assemblies to a high standard within a manufacturing workplace.
Reporting directly to the Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:
Medium to heavy fabrication using MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
Using fabrication equipment including cutting, drilling and grinding tools
Fabricating and welding crane components and major sub-assemblies
Collaborating with production and assembly teams to meet targets
Ensuring safe and effective use of workshop tools and equipment
Operating overhead gantry cranes to position components
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mark out materials
Solid experience with MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
Background in heavy fabrication or manufacturing environments
Solid attention to detail and pride in workmanship
In addition, you will:
Hold a forklift licence (highly regarded but not essential)
Be able to work independently and as part of a team
Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence
Be reliable and punctual
