About The Company Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of truck-mounted cranes for electricity utilities and private contractors. About The Opportunity This is a full time role and the primary purpose of this position is to carry out fabrication and welding of crane components and assemblies to a high standard within a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities
- Medium to heavy fabrication using MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
- Using fabrication equipment including cutting, drilling and grinding tools
- Fabricating and welding crane components and major sub-assemblies
- Collaborating with production and assembly teams to meet targets
- Ensuring protected and productive use of workshop tools and equipment
- Operating overhead gantry cranes to position components Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mark out materials
- Solid experience with MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW) welding
- Background in heavy fabrication or manufacturing environments
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Additional Requirements
- Hold a forklift licence (highly regarded but not essential)
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence
