Engineer - Electrical (Cooma)

Purpose of the Role To develop/review electrical designs, monitoring and maintenance of electrical QMS, procurement of electrical materials, order tracking and expediting with suppliers and technical support for project engineering queries as required. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science, majoring in Electrical Engineering
- Engineers Australia Membership
- White Card Experience
- Proven expertise as an electrical engineer
- Experience using design and calculation software
- Extensive experience in tunnelling construction or industrial engineering, typically 2+ years of experience
- Experience on major infrastructure construction operations of similar scale with a proven ability to operate in a energetic “live” environment and to meet significant program hurdles.
- Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works
- Extensive knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and Australian Electrical Standards
- Strong Initiative and proactive nature
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Introduction to the plant and equipment organization and interface management between other disciplines in the project.
- Introduction to planning and scheduling for upcoming construction activities.
- Educate regarding the relevant Australian Standards and project specifications applicable for electrical design review process.
- Introduction to risk assessment workshops, safety in design, safety work method statements and job hazard analysis assessments.
- Preparation of scope of works for plant and equipment procurement and understanding of technical evaluation process.
- Review and understand electrical schematics for construction of plant and equipment.
- Drafting of electrical schematics, designing of electrical systems and providing technical support for project wide electrical queries.
- Understand the quality management process, review inspection test plans and introduction to various permit systems for mechanical and electrical energization and operation.
