Clinical and Resident Care
- Monitor the implementation and review of individualised care plans.
- Act as a clinical advisor, particularly for residents with complex needs (RN DRM only).
- Lead and model person-centred care that values dignity, autonomy, and emotional wellbeing.
- Foster respectful partnerships with residents and families, keeping them informed and involved.
- Liaise with doctors, hospitals, and other service providers to support continuity of care.
- Where the Deputy Residential Manager holds current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, they will be required to undertake hands-on clinical work to support resident care and team operations. Financial and Administrative
- Support the Residential Manager in monitoring operational budgets and identifying variances
- Promote responsible resource use across staffing, clinical, and non-clinical areas
- Assist in aligning rostering and procurement practices with budget and service requirements
- Help ensure effective supply management and cost containment at site level
- Contribute to accurate reporting and compliance with funding and audit requirements Operational Support and Administration
- Prepare and maintain accurate records related to resident care, funding, staffing and audits.
- Participate in Government audits and respond to compliance actions.
- Assist in managing clinical funding submissions and support accurate reporting.
- Ensure the facility meets requirements under aged care legislation and internal policies Team Supervision and Workforce Support
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing education of staff. Actively promote a positive team culture through visibility, respect and shared purpose.
- Provide coaching, feedback and performance support to staff. Contribute to building rosters and reviewing workforce requirements.
- Provide a daily presence and mentoring for staff including mealtime interactions, clinical practices, that contribute to the overall resident experience.
- Lead brief training refreshers based on observed gaps in practice and follow-up from audits or clinical catch-ups.
- Lead and participate in daily clinical handovers, care huddles, and staff prioritisation discussions.
- Support the Residential Manager as required in people management matters. Quality, Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives across care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aged care accreditation standards.
- Support incident reporting, risk identification and resolution.
- Participate in planning and review cycles to uplift standards of care and service delivery. Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- Champion a safe working setting by monitoring and modelling safe practices.
- Ensure WHS compliance and participate in incident reviews.
- Oversee emergency procedures and fire safety education.
- Consult with employees on changes affecting their safety and wellbeing.
