Disability Support Worker (Mickleham)

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Support Worker to assist an NDIS participant ( 58 year old female) who has experienced a stroke. The role involves providing daily life activity support, emotional reassurance and encouragement to foster independence and well-being.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Personal Care-** Assist with showering, grooming, and dressing.
- **Household Tasks-** Support with making the bed, meal preparation, laundry, and doing the dishes.
- **Community Participation-**Accompany the participant to community activities, fostering social inclusion.
- **Medical Appointments-** Provide transport and support during doctor’s visits and therapy sessions.
- **Emotional Support-**Offer encouragement and reassurance, promoting a positive outlook and emotional well-being.
- Patient, empathetic, and respectful of the participant’s needs and preferences.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently while promoting participant’s autonomy.
- Experience in personal care or disability support is required
- Minimum of level lll diploma required in disability or equivalent.
- Positive communication skills required

Pay: $37.00
- $68.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20
- 25 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Every weekend
- Fixed shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability

- First Aid Certification (required)
