**About the Role**
The Volunteer Manager plays an important role in the success of VIVID 2025 by leading the recruitment, screening, and selection process of volunteers. Supported by the Volunteer Coordinators, this position involves strategic planning, communication, and leadership to ensure a dynamic and qualified volunteer workforce.
**Expected Duties and Responsibilities**
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Implement a recruitment strategy to hire volunteers with appropriate qualifications, skills, and experience to work with VIVID 2025.
- Implement the project plan to achieve targets.
- Ensure that the volunteer program is planned and aligned with the workforce strategy and the organisation’s strategic priorities
- Oversee the recruitment strategy and induction of volunteers and support their initial placement within the organisation.
- Coordinate marketing campaigns for the recruitment of volunteers.
- Coordinate the Vivid Sydney Volunteer Phone line
- Regular communication and meeting with the rest of the volunteering portfolio for collaborative discussions about the project.
- Work with project managers to develop a system of volunteer benefits and a recognition program.
- Develop a volunteer manual for internal use that provides information and guidelines for staff.
- Work with appropriate staff to ensure volunteers are properly trained in their area of service.
- Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports and strengthen and develop the team
- Action and report any issues to the Project Manager.
- Abide by Casual Hands policies and procedures.
- Provide weekly/monthly reports.
**Minimum Qualifications, Competencies and Experience**
- Robust interpersonal skills and capable of communicating with individuals at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in events, ideally in volunteering programs.
- Demonstrated track record in the development and management of volunteering programs, is a plus.
- Positive, can-do attitude with creative and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Well organised, able to multitask and work with deadlines.
- Obtain Police, RSA, and Working with Children Checks within 2 weeks of commencement of the role (as required). Police check to be renewed every 5 years.
**Key Performance Indicators**
- Completes and provides documents and reports at times as required by the Project Manager.
- Monitor and improve volunteer retention by implementing strategies that enhance the volunteer experience.
- Track and increase the diversity and inclusion of volunteers by implementing strategies to attract individuals from various backgrounds and demographics.

- Measure and improve volunteer engagement, including participation rates in events, training sessions, and overall involvement in the organisation's activities.
- Ensure that volunteers obtain required checks (Police & Working with Children) within the specified timeframe, aiming for 100% compliance.
