ICN NSW is a not-for-profit organisation that helps connect local businesses with project opportunities across Current South Wales. We support industry growth by helping project owners and managers identify capable local suppliers, creating meaningful economic outcomes and strengthening communities across the state.
We are seeking an experienced and self‑directed Accounting Officer to manage the organisation’s day‑to‑day finance function. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and can confidently oversee bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, and year‑end support in a small, purpose‑driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Process supplier invoices, staff expense claims, and payments accurately and on time
Manage payroll for approximately 15 employees, including relevant distributions and reporting
Prepare monthly accounts, financial reports, and supporting reconciliations
Raise sales invoices and maintain accurate accounting records and fixed asset registers
Support year‑end financial close and liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
Skills and Experience
Certificate‑level qualifications in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience using MYOB and managing end‑to‑end accounting processes
Robust Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
Experience in a similar role within a small organisation or not‑for‑profit environment will be highly regarded
Personal Attributes
Highly organised, reliable, and able to work independently
Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
Clear written and verbal communication skills
A versatile, cooperative approach and a genuine interest in supporting Australian industry
Comfortable working as the sole internal accounting resource with external support when needed
