Description
At ARN, we’re building Australia’s leading entertainment company — where great content, powerful audiences and innovative platforms come together to drive growth.
From our iconic broadcast brands to podcasts, streaming, social and live experiences, we create content that entertains Australians and connects brands to audiences at scale. With a national footprint across metro and regional markets and a clear focus on digital acceleration, audience growth and commercial impact, ARN is evolving fast— and our people play a critical role in making it happen.
As we continue to evolve and accelerate our commercial performance, finance plays a critical role in shaping decisions, driving accountability and unlocking sustainable growth.
About The Role We’re looking for a
Commercial Finance Business Partner
to join our Commercial Finance team, partnering closely with leaders across our Metro business. This is a hands‑on role that blends strong financial control with genuine commercial partnering.
You’ll be responsible for the financial leadership of metro P&Ls— providing insight, challenge and advice to optimise performance, manage risk and support confident decision‑making. Beyond reporting, this role is about influencing outcomes: improving margin, shaping investment decisions, supporting major commercial proposals and embedding financial ownershipacross the business.
What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will:
Act as a trusted finance partner to senior commercial leaders, supporting strategy, planning and execution
Own and oversee Metro P&Ls, ensuring financial accuracy, discipline and performance
Lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario modelling, risk assessment and contingency planning
Evaluate major commercial proposals, including sales initiatives, pricing, incentives, contra, marketing spend and business development opportunities
Drive financial literacy and accountability across Sales, Content and Marketing teams
Provide insights across revenue, cash, inventory, audience performance, talent contracts and ROI
Ensure strong financial controls, balance sheet integrity and compliance with internal frameworks
Partner on key contracts and commercial agreements with internal and external stakeholders
Support strategic change initiatives by embedding financial rigor into planning and delivery
Work closely with auditors and contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
About You You’re a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to the business and influencing outcomes — not just reporting on them.
You Bring
A professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA or equivalent)
5+ years’ experience in finance within a complex, fast‑moving organisation (ASX experience highly regarded)
Strong experience in commercial finance, P&L ownership and business partnering
The ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and driving accountability across functions
Sound judgement around risk, controls and governance, balanced with commercial pragmatism
Strong communication skills and the ability to operate with pace in an evolving environment
Experience in media, entertainment, sales‑led or consumer businesses will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Why join ARN?
Be part of a business transforming into a modern, entertainment‑led organisation
Partner directly with senior leaders on real commercial decisions
A role with genuine influence, visibility and scope to make an impact
A collaborative, high‑performance culture that values clarity, accountability and momentum
