Job Description We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join the Ventures division of The Australian Financial Review (AFR), the team responsible for iconic events, lists, awards, and content solutions including the AFR Fast 100, Women in Leadership, and various Business Summits. As the driving force behind audience growth and commercial success for the nation's premier destination for business and finance journalism, you will manage the lifecycle of prestigious live and editorial products. This involves everything from driving high-value ticket sales to soliciting entries for Australia's most competitive business rankings. Day to day you will:
- Architect a long-term strategic roadmap for AFR Ventures to maintain market dominance and establish a metrics framework for brand equity.
- Develop and oversee end-to-end marketing strategies to drive ticket sales and high-quality entries for prestigious lists and awards programs.
- Ensure the AFR brand's authority and prestige are maintained across all touchpoints, balancing commercial urgency with premium positioning.
- Utilise data-driven insights and performance analytics to optimise conversion funnels and report on ROI.
- Lead the team through platform transitions, such as CRM and MarTech upgrades, to ensure a seamless customer journey.
- Manage and mentor a team of two, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous qualified growth.
- Act as a bridge between Editorial, Sales, and Product teams to ensure a consistent brand voice across all revenue-generating activities. What you'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, preferably within events, media, or professional services.
- Proven experience in managing and developing direct reports to drive team success.
- A tech-savvy approach with a strong track record of working with marketing automation tools, CRMs, and data visualisation platforms.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to remain accountable to KPIs related to revenue, ticket quotas, and lead generation.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence editorial and commercial leaders.
