Engineer - Electrical (Toowoomba Regional)

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a motivated and capable Engineer (Electrical) to join our Water and Waste Services team. Working with experienced professionals, you’ll contribute to the delivery and management of electrical power, automation and communication systems across Council’s water and waste assets — including PLCs, telemetry, SCADA, digital radio, instrumentation and optical fibre networks. What you’ll be doing
- Support the delivery of electrical and automation projects across Council infrastructure
- Provide technical advice relating to PLCs, VFDs, switchboards, telemetry and communication systems
- Assist with the programming, maintenance and improvement of SCADA, RTU and control systems
- Contribute to the development of specifications, technical documentation and future infrastructure planning
- Work closely with operational teams, contractors and technical staff to deliver safe and effective outcomes
- Participate in an after‑hours on‑call roster as part of a supportive team environment About you You are a proactive and technically minded engineer who enjoys problem‑solving and working collaboratively. - A Bachelor or Associate Degree relevant to Electrical Engineering
- Solid interest or experience in PLCs, telemetry, SCADA and industrial electrical systems
- Well‑developed communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and within a team
- A commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
- A current “C” Class Driver’s Licence Experience with SCADA systems such as Citect or GeoSCADA, digital radio and telemetry systems will be highly regarded. Benefits
