Technical Service Manager

Coast Distributors is a leading supplier of commercial ice machines, dispensers and refrigeration equipment across Australia. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Service Manager to lead our service department and support our growing customer base.

This is a hands‑on management role suited to someone with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills and a customer‑first attitude.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the service department, coordinating installations, preventative maintenance, repairs, commissioning and spare parts support for our national customer network.

You will work closely with contractors, technicians, sales and spare parts teams to ensure exceptional customer service and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the service department

Coordinate service technicians and contractors for installations, maintenance and breakdowns

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers

Oversee service reports, invoices, warranty claims and contractor payments

Liaise with internal departments including sales, dispatch and spare parts

Conduct site audits and ensure WHS/OHS compliance standards are maintained

Coordinate and deliver service training sessions and technical workshops

Assist with trade shows, product demonstrations, and equipment setup

Develop customer‑facing technical documentation including manuals and installation guides

Support continuous improvement initiatives within ISO management systems

Take responsibility for after‑hours service issue escalation when required

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

Relevant refrigeration, electrical or mechanical trade qualifications

Previous experience in a technical support or service management role

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities

Leadership or supervisory experience

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Solid organisational and time management skills

A adaptable, hands‑on work ethic

Experience using Microsoft Office and service management systems/databases

Ability to lead by example and work within a quick‑paced environment

Valid Australian work authorisation to work in this position
