About the Role Football South Coast is seeking a passionate, driven, and community-focused Pathways & Development Manager to lead the growth and development of football across our region. This is an exciting chance to play a key role in shaping the future of football on the South Coast by driving participation growth, strengthening player pathways, supporting clubs, and creating inclusive football opportunities for all participants. Reporting to the Head of Football, the role will oversee football development initiatives across grassroots, community, and pathway football while working closely with clubs and key stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes aligned to Football South Coast’s strategic vision. The successful candidate will be passionate about community sport, player development, female football growth, and building positive football experiences that create long-term engagement in the game. Key Areas of Responsibility Participation & Football Growth
- Drive sustainable participation growth across all football programs
- Develop and deliver football participation initiatives and engagement programs across the region
- Support clubs in increasing registrations, retention, and player engagement
- Identify growth opportunities and participation trends across the football landscape Player Development & Pathways
- Support the delivery and promotion of player development programs and progression pathways
- Assist in connecting grassroots football to representative, development, and senior football opportunities
- Work collaboratively with clubs and coaches to strengthen junior-to-senior transitions
- Support inclusive and accessible pathway opportunities for players of all abilities and backgrounds Female Football & Inclusion
- Lead and support initiatives that increase women’s and girls’ participation in football
- Assist clubs in creating inclusive, welcoming, and female-friendly football environments
- Support the growth of female coaches, referees, volunteers, and club leaders
- Coordinate female football participation programs, activations, and development initiatives Club & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with clubs, schools, councils, and community stakeholders
- Support clubs with football development planning and participation initiatives
- Coordinate school engagement programs, football activations, and community events
- Promote inclusive and accessible football opportunities across the region Marketing & Communications
- Assist in promoting football development programs, pathway opportunities, and participation initiatives across FSC communication platforms
- Coordinate engaging storytelling and promotional campaigns showcasing players, clubs, coaches, volunteers, and community achievements
- Support the growth of Football South Coast’s digital and social media presence Key Skills & Experience Required Essential Skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to engage and work collaboratively with clubs, volunteers, schools, councils, and stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple programs, projects, and competing priorities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Passion for community sport and football development
- Strong understanding of participation growth and community engagement Desired Experience
- Experience working within football, sport development, community sport, or participation environments
- Understanding of football pathways and development structures
- Experience delivering programs, activations, or community initiatives
- Experience working with volunteers and community organisations
- Understanding of women’s and girls’ football growth initiatives
- Experience in marketing, communications, or social media engagement is highly regarded
- Knowledge of Football NSW and Football Australia development frameworks is desirable Qualifications & Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in Sport Management, Community Development, Education, or related fields (desirable)
- Minimum AFC/FA B Diploma in coaching
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current Driver’s Licence
