**Hands** is a design-led lifestyle store based in Paddington and Newtown, offering a curated selection of gifts, homewares, and accessories from independent makers and brands. We value creativity, attention to detail, and thoughtful customer service.
We’re looking for a Store Manager who brings care and clarity to the everyday — someone organised, visually sharp, and confident leading both the customer experience and operational excellence. In this role, you ensure everything runs smoothly, displays look their best, and customers feel truly welcomed.
- Is warm, confident, and engaging with customers
- Communicates clearly and helps others feel at ease
- Attentive to details
- notices what’s out of place, mislabelled, or missing.
- Has strong visual merchandising instincts and enjoys creating inspiring displays
- Stays calm under pressure and solves problems quickly
- Takes initiative without cutting corners and cares about doing things well
- Is organised and self-managed when juggling multiple responsibilities
- Genuinely interested in design, lifestyle products, and retail
- Enjoys supporting others
- guiding, training, and uplifting a team
**Minimum requirements**:
- 2+ years retail experience, or 1+ year in a management/supervisory role
- Fluent spoken English
- Positive, enthusiastic, and people-focused
- Confident with basic computer/admin tasks and inventory handling
**Tasks & responsibilities include**:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of both stores
- Maintain excellent stock control
- receiving, processing, and organising inventory
- Ensure the store environment remains clean, inspiring, and aligned with our brand
- Deliver robust sales performance and track key store metrics
- Support and execute visual merchandising direction
- Train, coach, and support new and existing team members
- Contribute to process improvements and forward planning with leadership
