plans, go to the OCPE website. Primary objective Provide high-quality financial services, advice and support to assist the department’s financial management, reporting,

reconciliation, accounts payable and day-to-day finance operations. Context statement The Financial Services team based in Darwin provides financial, accounting and compliance services across the Department.

The unit operates in a complex and tightly regulated public sector environment, characterised by high workloads, competing

priorities and strict deadlines. The Finance Officer supports financial governance and compliance by delivering accounts

payable, reconciliations, reporting and advice to staff across the department. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Provide financial support services including accounts payable, reconciliations, debtor and revenue processing, and credit card administration. 2. Prepare routine financial reports and information to support business units in managing compliance and meeting governance requirements. 3. Analyse financial data, identify anomalies or inconsistencies, and resolve issues or escalate complex matters as required. 4. Provide advice and practical support to staff on financial processes, coding, systems access, purchase requisitions, invoices and payment verification. 5. Assist senior finance staff with financial reporting, governance activities, process improvements and the maintenance of accurate records and procedures. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated experience in an accounting or finance role, including financial processing, reconciliations and reporting. 2. Sound knowledge of financial management practices, accounting processes and the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, guidelines and procedures. 3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues, investigate anomalies and provide practical advice and solutions. 4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and provide clear advice to a wide range of stakeholders. 5. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, work with minimal supervision and contribute positively in a small team workplace. Desirable 1.
