Our country is a living landscape – our culture, heritage, laws and language are linked to the land. The area’s natural and cultural assets are managed by Mimal Rangers on behalf of and in cooperation with landowners and custodians. The Opportunity This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical services within a workshop environment, including diagnostics, repair and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles. The position is responsible for maintaining workshop operations such as equipment upkeep, parts coordination and job tracking, while ensuring all work meets safety and organisational standards. The Mechanic also contributes to skills development. This is a full time, 6-month role (June to November) based at Bulman Ranger Base. About You
- You are a Trade qualified Automotive Mechanic or Diesel Fitter
- You are a Toyota Landcruiser Guru
- You have a sound understanding of auto electrics diagnosis and repair
- You hold a current manual drivers license
- You are experienced and/or certified with off-road four-wheel driving
- You are able to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals
- You are proficient in using hand tools, power tools and diagnostic scanners
- You have sound IT skills for parts procurement
- You can prioritise and delegate tasks
- You’ll bring a team attitude
- You are committed to supporting Aboriginal people in skills development and employment within their community
- You have a good understanding of remote area logistics
- You are aware of cultural protocols
- You hold a NT Ochre card (working with children check) or ability to obtain
- You have a current National Police Clearance or can provide Your Reward
- $90,000 to $100,000 per annum pro-rata
- 6 weeks annual leave pro-rata
