About the role FCD Health is seeking a motivated and professional Medical Receptionists to join the reception team at the Palmerston GP Super Clinic, Palmerston Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (PMUCC) and CURRENT Darwin Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (DMUCC). This is an opportunity for someone looking to step outside the ordinary and work in a fast-paced, patient-focused healthcare environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role as the first point of contact for patients, supporting the delivery of high-quality primary healthcare and urgent care services to the Palmerston community. This position is full-time, rostered across a range of shifts between 7am and 10pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays, with variability across our three clinics. You will work as part of a collaborative, supportive team alongside clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure a positive experience for all patients. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and clients attending the clinic.
- Attend to front counter enquiries, ensuring accurate information and assistance is provided in a skilled and respectful manner.
- Manage telephone enquiries, providing appropriate assistance and directing calls as required.
- Provide a broad range of administrative and reception services to support clinic operations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring understanding and inclusivity.
- Deliver high-quality customer service in an efficient, enthusiastic, and responsible manner.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with legal, ethical, and organisational requirements.
- Contribute positively to a team environment while managing competing priorities in a busy clinical setting. Selection Criteria Essential
- Demonstrated experience in customer service or administrative roles (medical or healthcare experience highly regarded).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with people from all cultures and beliefs.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Commitment to delivering excellent patient-centred service.
- Northern Territory Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
- National Police Criminal History Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate. Employment Conditions
