Mainframe Technical Lead (Darwin)

This is a 12-month full‐time contract role based on‐site in Darwin, NT. Responsibilities Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise mainframe applications and supporting systems. Provide technical leadership across complex application environments and system integrations. Plan, coordinate, test, and deliver system releases across development, test, and production environments. Provide Level3 technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for business‐critical applications. Support mainframe modernisation initiatives involving legacy and web‐based technologies. Develop and maintain technical, operational, and procedural documentation. Provide technical advice, risk identification, and escalation support to stakeholders and management. Mentor and guide development teams, supporting capability uplift and best practice delivery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable and customer‐focused ICT solutions. Qualifications Extensive experience across the full application development lifecycle within enterprise mainframe environments. Strong expertise in mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, TSO, QMF, ISPF, JCL, DB2, SQL, EGL, and BIRT. Experience with mainframe modernisation tools and practices, including Rocket LegaSuite products. Knowledge of web development technologies including XML, HTML, JavaScript, .NET, and Sitecore. Proven experience delivering complex application releases and managing deployments across multiple environments. Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‐solving capabilities within large‐scale application environments. Experience developing and maintaining enterprise application codebases and technical documentation. Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear technical guidance and recommendations. Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring development teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
